Overview
Keaten's Krunch is a non-profit business I founded to shine a spotlight on local nonprofits through the sale of homemade granola. The concept: sell a great product, and use the proceeds and platform to raise awareness for charitable causes.
The Idea
Every batch of granola was tied to a specific nonprofit organization. The packaging told their story, and a portion of proceeds went directly to their cause. It turned a food product into a storytelling and fundraising vehicle.
What I Built
- Developed the product recipe and production process from scratch
- Set up all business operations: sourcing, packaging, and sales channels
- Established partnerships with local nonprofits to feature on packaging and social media
- Managed marketing, fulfillment, and finances independently
What I Learned
Running a business solo — even a small one — teaches you fast. I learned how to balance production with sales, how to tell a story around a product, and how critical it is to align operations with mission. It also gave me firsthand insight into the challenges nonprofits face in getting visibility.
